As extreme heat events become more frequent and intense, EDF has launched the\u00a0Plan Grand Chaud<\/strong>, a major initiative aimed at reinforcing the safety of its nuclear power plants. This program is designed to adapt facilities to new climate realities, ensuring they can operate safely even during severe heatwaves.<\/p>

In this context,\u00a0AX System<\/strong>, in partnership with\u00a0SPIE<\/strong>, was selected to contribute to the upgrade of\u00a0Unit 2 at the Bugey nuclear power plant<\/strong>\u00a0in eastern France. The mission: deploy an advanced\u00a0adiabatic misting system<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure optimal cooling of critical equipment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The solution implemented draws on the expertise of\u00a0DUTRIE<\/strong>, a company specialized in industrial misting and acquired by AX Group in July 2025.\u00a0This high-performance misting system was designed to:<\/p>

  • Effectively reduce ambient temperatures around\u00a0emergency diesel generators<\/strong>.<\/li>
  • Maintain the performance of sensitive equipment during extreme heat conditions.<\/li>
  • Meet post-Fukushima safety requirements by enhancing the plant\u2019s resilience to climate-related risks.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
